In reply to Becki.

Y'know, that's not completely farfetched. The major ebook formats (EPUB and MOBI) are essentially HTML, and there's already been at least one Kindle hack that used JavaScript.

I've jailbroken my own Kindle Paperwhite, and it turns out to be running a fairly standard version of Linux under the hood. So I can do silly stuff like, for instance, running a terminal and logging in to my web server to fix stupid database errors. Not that it wouldn't have been easier to grab a laptop or a different sort of tablet, but really, all sorts of stuff is possible. You can even install an alternate operating system (Duokan), but when I tried it, it turned out that its creators want you to register with them before they let you use wifi, and then they track all your reading. Probably just like Amazon does (or did, before I blocked their IP addresses from my Kindle), but that didn't give me much of a reason to switch.

Anyway, glad you liked the chapter!

I guess I'll keep my secrets a little bit longer! Glad you like it so far. I had fun writing it, but I'm very curious to see what the beta readers think about where the story eventually goes. One of 'em is 75% through and enjoying it so far, but...stuff happens toward the end...

Though I'll probably leave it pretty much as is even if they don't like it. I might rewrite bits of it for clarity or to increase/improve impact. But, well, if people don't like one of my books, that's perfectly okay. {8'>

Well you've gone and done it again. I can't wait to find out more. Is it zombies? No, don't answer that. It's got to have something to do with the founding family reunion. Don't answer that either. Finding out is too much fun. Really like it so far.
