In reply to Rebecca L.

Well...wow. That there is hellacious validation, to which I'll return as needed. But I have no intention of quittin', here. I'm just thinking about getting paid, is all. Not even sure I'll do the gender-bender deal yet--it seems a bit less honest/straightforward than I'd like. OTOH I have a bit of a "well, if people are influenced that strongly by author sex (not, naturally, in the pagan sense to which we're all so well accustomed by now), maybe they deserve to be misled" feeling about it all. For straight science fiction and thrillers (probably also for the gay varieties), male names seem to be preferred. Hrmph. People are funny monkeys. Well, apes. Whatever.

Probably this whole deal isn't such a much. I read a pretty good book about brewing beer that was written by a person or group of persons claiming the name/title "Buffalo Overlord"...didn't bother me.

I guess this is my position: I'd rather just keep using my own name. But I don't want to stack the odds against myself more than I absolutely have to. I don't need, or even particularly want, scads of cash. That becomes a full-time job of its own, and not one I enjoy. But I do have folks to look after, and in general it feels pretty good when I can improve my ability to do so.

If I do go with a pseudonym I'll send you the info when I publish.

And, lest this get lost in my babble: thank you. Again! {8'>

Well...wow. That there is hellacious validation, to which I'll return as needed. But I have no intention of quittin', here. I'm just thinking about getting paid, is all. Not even sure I'll do the gender-bender deal yet--it seems a bit less honest/straightforward than I'd like.
OK crazy. I want to read your new books and I don't care what name you use to write them.
