Okay, don’t hate me for the headline. I loved The Hobbit. But LOTR dragged. Frodo and Sam took step after step. After step. If there was a pebble, we read about it.
Ha. Just occurred to me that some of you may have thought I was talking about the movies. Nope. I like movies. Especially B-movies with zombies. But I don’t have a lot to say about them.
(Except that–if you haven’t done it already–you should read John Wyndham’s Day of the Triffids. It’s not about zombies at all, but it’s really good and today’s zombie flicks owe a lot to it. Which doesn’t mean you should watch the DotT movie. Read the book! No, really. It’s good.)
Apologies, by the way, to those of you who read this blog from outside the USA. I don’t mean to be provincial when I insert links into my posts (ever tried to use the word “provincial” in Canada, by the way? I’ve created awkward moments with it). It’s just that most readers come from around here. I do provide more complete buy-stuff linkfests on my book pages, but they’d get cumbersome in blog entries. Just so you know: I’m aware of the issue, and I’m grateful that you keep coming back in spite of it.
Where am I going with all this? Ever forward, that’s where, because dead things float downstream. But basically I just wanted to say I’ve made some progress with getting titles out to Google Books. Most likely they have a broken form for copyright “attestation” that won’t accept multiple ISBNs. No big deal, but it took me a while to figure it out. And stuff should start to be available from Sony too in a couple of weeks. Oh, and I can start listing Shiver on the Sky outside of Amazon’s sites starting on…wait for it…Christmas Day. A coincidence, that.

^^ See? This post is just like the Lord of the Rings trilogy! Which I think split a Hugo award back in 1952 with Asimov’s Foundation series. But I’m not googling that, because…well, Tolkien and Asimov are both dead. So you should read my stuff instead!

My 3-year-old is walking around pretending to be a zombie right now. Probably because she asked what I was doing and I read some of this post to her. Beware: it may be the start of an Apocalypse. And you read it here first!

Too funny. I find this after posting that LOTR is one of my all time favorites. But, then again, I do like pebbles better than coca puffs.
Oh, I liked LOTR. But I thought it was a little bit of a slog. ‘Course I was about eight years old when I read it (via a Bookmobile). Might be different now?
I used to like Grape Nuts best, back when I ate stuff like that. So my taste isn’t useful except as a warning signpost for others. {8’>
